The “Book of Common Prayer” is a compendium of all the services commonly offered in the Episcopal Church. The first “Book of Common Prayer” was compiled and edited by Thomas Cranmer, Archbishop of Canterbury and published in 1549. It represented a large break with the traditions of the Roman church because it was written in English rather than Latin and made the meaning of the service understandable to all worshipers.

In 1549, the printing of services in English represented a radical break with the traditions of Rome while still continuing the faith practices of Rome.

The tradition of continuous adaptation to enhance our faith experience continues today at Trinity. We radically embrace the love of Jesus by welcoming all people with their God given variations of faith practice into our community.
