Coordinators
One of the greatest joys of being a part of Trinity's community is discovering one's own gifts and the gifts of others as we work toward a common purpose. Listed above are ways any member of our congregation can participate in weekly worship. Please let coordinators know of your interest.
A New Way to Share Your Prayer Concerns
Each Sunday there will be a sheet on the entryway table in the narthex where parishioners, visitors, and other church attendees can write their prayer requests for that Sunday. The page will include options for those requiring healing, special intentions, or the deceased. Those names will be included for that Sunday and the Sunday following, unless requested otherwise.
If you would like to have the names added to the long-term prayer list, please visit trinitysolebury.org/prayerlist or contact the church office.

"Rapid Re-Housing Welcome Baskets"
Families Transitioning from Homelessness
Need Our Help
The Rapid Re-Housing (RRH) program, which is run by Episcopal Community Services in Philadelphia, helps on average 40 families per year by providing short-term rental assistance and coaching support. Families transitioning from homelessness to permanent housing need more than a set of keys: RRH Welcome Baskets were developed to include some basic necessities for setting up a home, including sheets, towels, sponges, dish soap and other items.
Consider creating complete baskets or donating individual basket items for the RRH program. It would mean so much to a family in need for restarting their lives. If you would rather, you can make a cash donation and we will do the shopping for you. Donations will be gathered in McArthur Hall over the next few weeks. Trinity member Jean Evans is coordinating this effort and will be happy to answer any questions by calling her at 215-343-2825.
The Rapid Rehousing program has developed a list of items to make sure the baskets have the same quantity of comparable items so that each family receives baskets of equal value. (Please resist the temptation to substitute items of greater value.) Here is the list of items requested and the stores where they can be purchased. Some items on the original list have already been donated:

The response so far has been enthusiastic, and we are hoping that we will reach our goal of 15 Rapid Response baskets by the end of the month, With your help we will!
Episcopal Community Services (ECS) runs RRH out of their St. Barnabas location at 60th and Girard and has a long history of providing services and support to those experiencing poverty in the Philadelphia region. New Ministries and the Palpable Energy of Trinity
During our time of transition to a new Rector, we continue to grow together as a parish community while embracing Father Rob’s ministry at Trinity. The energy from everyone is palpable! For so very long, many wonderful, dedicated people gave their hearts and souls to keep things together for our parish. The time without a Rector, or even an interim Rector, and the lingering impact of the pandemic was challenging to be sure. We were so blessed to have leaders, volunteers, and congregants who did whatever needed to be done, whenever it needed to be done. Everyone is so grateful for the fortitude shown by all.
Now that Rob is here, one of the hopes of the new Vestry is to take stock of our habits and ways of getting things done for the parish and our community. It's time to strive for increased awareness, more consistency, and better coordination across ministries. It’s also a chance to be clearer about expectations of ownership, or shepherding the work, for greatest involvement and impact.
To start things off, we have a new process to help us understand and keep track of our many Outreach ministries. Next week, a questionnaire form will be used to capture information from current outreach ministries and will be used for future outreach ideas before creating a new ministry. The questionnaire process will help to keep us organized. Simply put, Rob and Vestry will know what’s going on and be able to coordinate and support these ministries better.
Your enthusiasm and dedication towards making a positive impact on the world around us is truly inspiring. Our hope is this new process will enable everyone to have the support and leadership they need.
We are deeply appreciative of John Dey and Betty Stagg for taking on the Outreach ministry at Trinity. You can expect more communication from them on this request and process. As we move forward, we will work to support and help organize more ministry efforts.
In peace,
Kevin Clark and Lorri Perkins, Wardens
Centering Prayer at Trinity Every Tuesday Morning
Be still and know that I am God - Psalm 46:10
Centering Prayer has been an active ministry at Trinity since the late 1990's. We practice Centering Prayer in the Chapel weekly on Tuesday mornings from 8 to 8:30 a.m. and all are welcome. Come whenever you can.
Centering Prayer is a type of Christian contemplation that provides an opportunity to sit quietly in God’s presence, in stillness for greater awareness of God in our busy daily lives. We intentionally put aside all thoughts of the past and of the future, being aware only of "now".
When we meet we remember those in need. We practice 20 minutes of silent meditation. We send cards to those in our prayers.
One technique of Centering Prayer employs a sacred word that we each choose on our own. Then we silently recall it to return to God’s presence when we are distracted by thoughts, feelings, and images. In Centering Prayer we believe that the beginning and the end of prayer is learning how to be still before God. Thoughts are the inevitable and normal part of Centering Prayer and by returning to our sacred word we are expressing our "intention to consent to God's presence and action within" (Thomas Keating)
Consider coming to Centering Prayer on Tuesdays. It is a gentle retreat, if only for 20 minutes, from our busy daily lives.
The Trinity Spiritual Life Ministry
Episcopal Church Foundation
Ministry Tip of the Week
This week’s tip: Aim to be a disciple
The life of a disciple of Jesus is one of love, charity and hope, not eternal Lent. Too often, when we talk of discipleship, we turn to the root word “discipline,” or we talk about the suffering servant, or the things we must give up in order to devote our lives to Jesus.
Can this child of God do what I do? Jesus continually asks this question of us. And, importantly, Jesus answers it as well – Yes, you can be like me. You can be the hands of God on this earth. In essence, discipleship is responding to an encounter with Jesus by modeling your life after Jesus.
Go and talk to the people you think are already disciples and ask them where they found Jesus. I am suggesting that a life in Jesus is exciting, wild, stable and peaceful. God has already declared a great faith in you. Jesus has called you. The Holy Spirit is pushing and pulling you. Go and be a disciple.
